Students currently enrolled in Newcomb-Tulane College must submit this major declaration to join Tulane's nursing program. Newcomb-Tulane College students who meet all eligibility requirements, including completing all NTC Core Curriculum and nursing prerequisite requirements beforehand, are expected to be admitted to the four-semester professional nursing program. Students who complete this form and are in the last semester of completing their NTC Core Curriculum and/or nursing prerequisites should understand that entry into the Nursing program will be conditional until all eligibility requirements have been met.

Before continuing, please review the full eligibility requirements and prerequisite coursework for the BSN program, as well as the Nursing Technical Standards located in the Program of Nursing Student Handbook.

I have reviewed and understand the eligibility requirements in their entirety. I understand that I must be in good academic standing, have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA across required nursing prerequisite courses in order to begin this program.

I have reviewed and understand the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) Eligibility Criteria for Enrollment in Clinical Nursing Courses, which includes a criminal background check (CBC) via fingerprints and submission of an application through the Louisiana Nurse Portal to ensure compliance with state laws. I understand that I will receive directions about this application once admitted to the program.

Video Submission

All applicants must include a video submission. This is an opportunity to demonstrate who you are and why you want to become a registered nurse. This video is limited to 2 minutes to respond to the following prompts:

What characteristics do you possess that will make you a good candidate for the Tulane Nursing program?
Provide an example of when you demonstrated your leadership qualities.
How will you balance the demands of this 16-month program with the other demands in your life?

Please address anything in your academic history where an explanation of circumstances may assist the admission committee in evaluating your application. Applicants will be allowed an additional 30 seconds to address any explanation of circumstances. The total video time should not exceed 2 minutes, 30 seconds. If necessary, you may reset and record a new video a maximum of two times.
